WEST ELK DEFEATS FLINTHILLS FOR SCBL TOURNAMENT TITLE

Udall may have caused the biggest buzz in the South Central Border League tournament with a quarterfinal victory over top-seeded Argonia, but in the end, West Elk claimed the championship with a 36-31 victory over Flinthills in Saturday’s final at Arkansas City.

The third-seeded Patriots began their title journey with a 48-17 victory over Central-Burden. They followed it with a 39-31 victory over South Haven, limiting the Cardinals to seven second-half points. Molly McClendon scored 10 points to lead West Elk, which took its first lead late in the third quarter.
