FCCLA presented Seatbelts Are For Everyone (SAFE), a peer-to-peer program that encourages students to increase seatbelt use and avoid distracted driving. Students sign pledge cards each month to always wear their seatbelt and keep their focus while on the road.

FCCLA members are taking the lead as part of an imperative, community-driven effort in raising awareness of the importance in keeping clear from these risks. According to the CDC website, "Motor vehicle fatality is the leading cause of accident death among teenagers, representing over one-third of all deaths to teenagers."

S.A.F.E. consists of pledge cards, monthly prizes, and educational activities. FCCLA complete three unannounced observational seatbelt and distracted driving surveys at the beginning, middle, and end to measure the success of the program. Grant money is given through the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office to use as rewards for pledging and from submitting survey results. At the end, all pledge cards are combined for a grand prize winner drawing. The intention for the student body implementing S.A.F.E. is to reduce the number of motor vehicle-related injuries and fatalities among Kansas teens.
