West Elk Senior Devin Loudermilk signed his National Letter of Intent for Track & Field at The University of Kansas. KU’s Head Coach Stanley Redwine presented this athletic scholarship. A five-time Big 12 Coach of the Year, Redwine has coached 21 individual champions, 290 All-Americans, eight Olympians and 23 national championship teams between his years as head coach at Kansas and Tulsa and an assistant coach at Arkansas.

Devin has been a member of West Elk Track throughout Junior High and High School under former Patriots Coach Debbie Brown. He is also a West Elk basketball player. He was selected as first team all-league, first team all-area, and was an honorable mention for all-state. His primary sport is Track & Field and his event of choice is High Jump. Devin placed 2nd at the 2019 KSHSAA State Championships, while achieving his personal best of jumping 6’8”. That has tied his score with West Elk’s high jump record made in 2009. In this upcoming season, under the direction of first year Coach Sean Cherico, he is determined to surpass it.
